Posted by The February 2024 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by David at 8:41 pm on February 5, 2024. The meeting was held virtually via Zoom.
Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the December meeting was submitted by Jim and seconded by Joe. The motion was passed by acclamation.
Treasurer: The treasurer submitted his report in absentia. He has pinky-sworn that he has not absconded with the club funds.
Membership: 246 members.
Club Racing: Keith won 2 first places in F600 at Homestead and Sebring.
Ice Racing: In 360 days. Or possibly never.
Solo: The Solo awards banquet was held January 20th. Awards were presented to all class winners, as well as Rookie of the Year to Kara, Driver of the Year to Seth, and Worker of the Year to Paul.
The 2024 season will be primarily a “travel league” format, consisting of 8 designated events held by Finger Lakes and Misery Bay regions. Season championship points will be determined by a minimum of 5 events, with a minimum of 2 events in each region. A small entry fee (possibly $20) for the series will be imposed to cover the cost of trophies. Any local events we are able to host will be added to the series, possibly counting as OOR events. Class groupings will likely be larger than previous years (a single Street class, etc.).
The timing truck will likely need servicing this year.
A discussion ensued of prospective local sites and the current status of talks with certain venues. No news is… no news.

New Business: We are exploring the possibility of a WNY Region summer picnic this year.
